Working principle and purpose of SMT Nozzles

 SMT machine Nozzles can be classified into different types based on their structural form, suction pressure, and movement mode. Specifically, they can be divided into: straight insertion Nozzles, bending Nozzles, slider Nozzles, bending slider Nozzles, solenoid valve Nozzles, automatic adjustment Nozzles, etc.

 

Working Principles of SMT Nozzles

The working principle of SMT Nozzles is to position and extract components through the vacuum suction inside the Nozzles, external pneumatic pressure, and the motion mechanism of the surface mount machine. When the vacuum suction reaches a certain value, the component is sucked onto the suction Nozzles, which is driven by the motion mechanism of the placement machine to move the component to the placement position, and then the vacuum suction is disconnected to complete the component placement.

 

Application of SMT Nozzles

The SMT​ suction Nozzles is not only a key component for surface mount machines to attach and place components, but it also serves as the background for optical vision system cameras. It mainly uses the suction effect of vacuum on suction components and uses air blowing to place the components adsorbed on the suction Nozzles onto the coordinate position of the circuit board.

When the suction Nozzles of the surface mount machine picks up components, in order to achieve the ideal situation, it is necessary to ensure that the center of the component, the center of the suction Nozzles, and the spatial center of the obtained image are coincident. The adjustment of the optical vision system is actually to compensate for the deviation caused by non-coincidence in the actual operation.

Different mounting components require different suction Nozzles to be used for suction. Almost every Nozzles will have a reflective background, mainly to have a good background during image capture so as to ensure accurate highlighting of target information during image processing. When extracting images, the Nozzles serves as the background, enhancing the contrast of the component's image and making it clearer and more visible.
